How Teta started improving lives

The story of Teta in Slovakia began in 2009. Since then, Teta has grown into a well-known retailer of cosmetics and household products in Slovakia with multiple brick-and-mortar stores all over the country, as well as a strong online presence. As a result, the Slovak branch of Teta became a strong brand on the market.

Luigi’s Box is an efficient tool for us that takes care of the entire search process, which we can easily manage thanks to it, helping to minimize customer loss due to search issues. We also use product recommendations in multiple places, based on customers’ shopping behavior or the offering of alternative products.

Improving Teta’s online store with better search and recommendations

The Slovak branch of Teta discovered Luigi’s Box while choosing a platform for their e-commerce store. The company chose Luigi’s Box because it was a solution backed up by existing use cases from the local market and experiences of various other e-commerce stores.

Teta wanted to improve the efficiency of their website’s product search & discovery options. They wanted to make sure that individual customers would discover relevant offers and integrate purchases from the brick-and-mortar stores to personalize customers’ online shopping experiences. These changes resulted in Luigi’s Box solving multiple challenges.

Send personalized recommendations in emails

This update was of the highest priority. Teta also wanted to send automated, personalized product recommendations via email as a newsletter. The system needed to prepare personalized recommendations for the SmartEmailing newsletter platform from over 10,000 products and send newsletters to a large number of customers who purchased something in the brick-and-mortar Teta stores and online stores.

Luigi’s Box creates personalized Recommendations for Email Campaigns with 24 selected products in each email, which is then sent out to over 130,000 customers. Luigi’s Box experts configured Teta’s email recommendations to show the most often purchased, last-seen, and products purchased in the brick-and-mortar stores.

The sending is handled via Luigi’s Box integration with SmartEmailing. The email recommendations also present discounted products and show Teta club prices. Teta club card data handles personalization, so each recipient gets accurate recommendations.

Show multiple prices in Autocomplete

Teta wanted to show three prices for individual products in Luigi’s Box Search and Autocomplete results: the standard price for all customers, a discounted price, and the price for Teta’s loyalty club members.

Our experts configure Luigi’s Box Search and Autocomplete to show customers the most relevant results with three different prices whenever an e-commerce store requires such a feature. Thanks to this upgrade, the results clearly show pricing information for each product, and Teta’s customers can compare prices in real-time as they shop.

Decrease no-result searches

Teta used to have a problem with searches with no results. No result searches are a real culprit in e-commerce. Customers can cause “no result” searches with simple typos or other means. Additionally, Teta wanted to improve their synonym capabilities.

Luigi’s Box solved this problem with features that ensure the best no-result prevention. Typo correction and Typo tolerance features find the closest matches and deliver results despite typos. Synonyms ensure that customers can be flexible with their language during searches. Thanks to these features, Teta’s customers will get no results only when there are genuinely no relevant matches. The no-result search rate went from almost 16% down to only 4%.

Increase search usage

Customers shopping online at Teta didn’t use the search box as much as the company wanted. Teta wanted to increase search usage to enhance the discoverability of products.

After implementing Luigi’s Box, search usage increased from 25% to 45% (221% higher than the industry average), which is a significant growth. Customers at Teta simply needed access to a more enjoyable search experience to search and browse for products. Luigi’s Box offers a search experience with e-commerce personalization software to tailor product selection and increase engagement. Additionally, the user interface is easy to use, and it invites customers to start searching.

Introduce personalized recommendations

Teta has already utilized recommendations on their website. However, their product suggestions were very general and didn’t rely on personalization for individual customers. They wanted to fix this and provide a personalized experience instead.

Thanks to Luigi’s Box Recommender, all recommendations are now personalized for individual customers. Personalization happens based on customers’ shopping behavior and preferences or on product alternatives.

The upgrades by Luigi’s Box brought great results

The conversion rate from Teta club emails with recommendations went up to almost 15%, while the conversion rate from discounted price product recommendations emails went up to 12%.
