Solution

Replacing the original search with Luigi’s Box Search with Autocomplete solved these challenges. Besides relying on historical B2B and B2C customer data to ensure that results will be personalized and relevant, Luigi’s Box utilizes smart ranking features to deliver precise results that bring profits based on signals such as margin, novelty, and other.

Advanced product ranking

Lucide’s old system relied on general sales data across all product categories, without considering the nuances of individual customer behavior and purchase patterns. High-performing products generally overshadowed items that were actually relevant to segments, rendering them less visible.

Solution

Luigi’s Box products use advanced business-oriented ranking algorithms based on click and purchase data of individual segments and customers. This way of ranking products allows the system to distinguish customer types, so relevant products are always shown to the right customers in Luigi’s Box Search, Recommender, and Product Listing.

Merchandising options

Lucide wanted the option to promote products with a higher profit margin and influence their placement in search results and product listings.

Separate B2B and B2C data learning

Lucide operates both B2B and B2C websites and each has distinct customer types with different purchasing behaviors. That’s why the company needed a solution that separates knowledge about these two segments, so the system avoids mixing B2B and B2C data.

Personalization

Luigi’s Box implemented a split data layer, so B2B and B2C data don’t get mixed up. Each of these two segments receives separately optimized personalization, product ranking, and recommendations. Split data layer allows Lucide to provide tailored experiences for B2B and B2C customers.

Data relevancy and behavioral insights

Lucide’s ranking wouldn’t take specific countries and individual customer insights into consideration, which leads to irrelevant results and missed upselling and cross-selling opportunities for B2B accounts.

Solution

The solution was to start using Luigi’s Box Analytics. It uses customer data to power personalization, relevance tuning, and segmentation based on purchase history and location. The rest of the Luigi’s Box product set uses this data, so Lucide’s customers receive relevant, personalized offers.
