Druck.at decided to invest in a better search solution after discovering that their original, self-developed search function wasn’t performing as they expected. After a quick search and recommendations from their partners, druck.at discovered Luigi’s Box.

At first, they were also considering other search solutions, but they opted for Luigi’s Box because of positive reviews from their fellow e-commerce businesses. The major reason for choosing us, however, was our easy implementation process, and that’s why they’ve been a Luigi’s Box customer since November 2019.

Issue #1: Their self-developed search wasn’t working as intended

Druck.at realized that their search functionality was not meeting their expectations and most actions had to be set up or performed manually. Although users were attempting to use the search, finding specific items on the druck.at website was challenging. This inefficiency likely played a role in reducing the website’s conversion rate which resulted in missed sales opportunities.

We replaced druck.at’s self-developed search solution with Luigi’s Box and our Search immediately addressed the problems with search relevancy. The Search learns to rank the search results based on the customers’ online behavior to improve their relevancy over time. Thanks to Luigi’s Box, druck.at was able to improve the shopping experience on a significant level.

Issue#2: Typos and inaccurate phrases had to be addressed manually

The original site search was unable to accommodate typos and various inaccuracies in user queries. Every time a user mistyped a word, the search wouldn’t show correct results because there was no automated way to handle it. Druck.at was able to solve this issue with manual adjustments, but they were overly complex and time-consuming.

Luigi’s Box offers automated typo correction and typo tolerance features, so our Search will recognize user intent and show relevant results despite any mistakes. So, as an example, if a website visitor types the search query “baner” instead of the intended “banner,” Luigi’s Box Search will catch this mistake and choose the closest word to ensure the search results will be relevant.

Issue#3: Lack of product boosting options

Druck.at had no way to boost certain products in search results with their own solution. This halted them from promoting certain services and products from their selection, as their original search would simply return results as usual.

At Luigi’s Box, we offer merchandising and boosting options available as a part of our package. So, if druck.at wants to boost a certain type of product, brand, or category, such as “hard cover books”, the boosting will take care of this and put this option in the first place in search results if the customer query is close enough to the boosted product.

Results after one month speak volumes about druck.at’s switch to Luigi’s Box

The main objective was to enhance the functionality of the website search experience, aiming to boost user satisfaction with the search results and increase both the number and value of conversions. By analyzing data collected prior to implementing Luigi’s Box Search, we had a clear benchmark of past performance. Post-deployment of the Search, we anticipated and observed notable improvements.
